Part of the Performance Poetry strand

My Lords, Ladies, and Gentlemen, (though not boys and girls as this event isn't suitable for children) Wordfringe presents three rounds of no holds barred (or bard) Tag-Team Word Wrestling. In the blue corner is the big bad English language, and in the red corner, four plucky poets who will take turns in tweaking its similes, bending its rhythms back around its ears, and generally clattering it around for your comical delight. Expect the thrills and spills of word grappling, verse mangling, and punchlines that won't be pulled.

The four fearless contenders are:

Ash Dickinson

Ash ‘The Smash’ Dickinson who returns after previous Wordfringe triumphs — expect old favourites and new verses, plus his signature move where the inadequacies of men's fashion will be fore-arm smashed and pinned to the canvas.

Demented Eloquence Tag-Team Word Wrestling

Jonny Fluffypunk

Ready to fluff you up, then rough you up, is Jonny Fluffypunk making his Wordfringe debut. He lives on a Welsh mountainside with his favourite hats, where he hones his word wrestling skill with daily meditation whilst eating only wild sorrel. Undoubtedly Jonny will bounce the hypocrisy of modern life off the ropes — expect anarchic musings and chants for industrial collapse.

Demented Eloquence Tag-Team Word Wrestling

Milton Balgoni

The Fife flyer, Milton Balgoni is notorious for his fast and furious climb to the top rope to execute most daring moves. Amongst other classics, these will no doubt include the spiked piledriver that is the chronicle of Rabbie Burns's first vindaloo eating experience. All of which will be delivered in a rabid, ranting Scots that will send the English language running home for its mummy.

Demented Eloquence Tag-Team Word Wrestling

Rapunzel Wizard

Rapunzel ‘The Beast’ Wizard is Aberdeen's own word mangler, from somewhere up the other end of King Street. Expect him to put the boot into politicians, catch Reality TV in a choke hold, and spin the stupidity of daily existence round his head before throwing it out of the ring.
